FAQ:

How can I Mask Up, Back Up, and Wash Up effectively on campus?  Wear your mask! Masks should cover your nose and mouth and should be worn indoors in public spaces and outdoors when you can not effectively be physically distant  from others. If you do not own a mask, you may purchase one in the Campus Store. Back Up: practice physical distancing by leaving 6 feet between you and others. Wash up: wash your hands often.

What should I do if I was exposed to someone with COVID-19?  Report any potential exposure or symptoms to the Dean of Students Office and follow any instructions they provide to seek medical care or to quarantine.

What should I do if I see another student who isn't wearing a mask? Remember, this is the year of community.  Please remind them nicely to wear their mask. We are all doing this for each other. Should you have questions, you may contact the Dean of Students Office

How will office hours be managed? All support services are still fully available to you; some are just offered in a different way. For example:

  • All seating areas for Phil’s and Wingra have been spaced out for social distancing. Also, Stations that used to be self-serve are now either served by Dining Staff or are single packaged items.
  • Health Services will see students for non-COVID concerns by appointment only. Personal counseling will be provided via telehealth.
  • Current information on library services during COVID-19 is available on on the library website.

New Public Health Order and You

Title : New Public Health Order and You
Posting Date / Time : Nov 18, 2020, 16:35 PM
Dear Students -

We are nearing the end of the semester, which I know has been very different for all of us. I must say that I really appreciate the diligence and care that most of you have shown in following our COVID-19 protocols during this semester. It’s clear that the vast majority of our students have taken this pandemic seriously and have made sacrifices to keep our community safe.

The pandemic is still here, and throughout Wisconsin the numbers are getting worse. Late Tuesday we heard from Dr. Manion about Emergency Order #10, enacted in a continuing effort to slow the spread of the virus.

The Order prohibits any indoor gathering that includes others from outside of a household or living unit, and prohibits any outdoor gathering of more than 10 people from outside of your living unit. This means that it is a violation of Madison Municipal Ordinances to host anyone inside of your house, apartment, or other living unit unless they are officially a part of your household.

Emergency Order #10 applies to all of us in Dane County: students living in the res halls and those living off-campus, and faculty, and staff. Off-campus students who are found to be in violation of the new Order will face consequences specified by Public Health Madison/Dane County.

In addition, reports of violations will be forwarded to the Student Conduct process at Edgewood College for investigation and potential action. Please continue to good members of our College community and the Madison community by diligently following this order.

As always, please reach out to deanofstudents@edgewood.edu or 608-663-2212 if you have further questions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Heather Harbach, Ed.D ‘17
Vice President for Student Development
