Professional Program Licensure Disclosure: Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN)

We strongly encourage prospective students to verify licensure requirements with the appropriate state licensing board before enrolling in the ABSN program. Helpful resources include:

Admitted students are advised that relocating to another state during the program may impact their ability to remain enrolled in the ABSN program and obtain professional licensure upon completion. Each state has its own licensure requirements, and Edgewood College cannot guarantee that students who relocate will be able to continue in the program or meet the licensure board requirements of their new state. Students considering relocation should carefully review and understand the licensure requirements of their intended state before making any decisions. It is the student’s responsibility to verify state-specific licensure requirements with the appropriate licensing board.

Students are encouraged to update their mailing address each semester and consult with the ABSN Program Director for guidance on state-specific licensure requirements.

Accreditations In-Progress

Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD)

The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program has applied for accreditation and has been granted Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E, Bethesda, MD 20814. ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its web address is www.acoteonline.org. The program must have a preaccreditation review, complete an on-site evaluation, and be granted Accreditation Status before its graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
