It’s your place to go for academic assistance, advising, help choosing a major, and guidance on career development. You’ll benefit from our strong connections with faculty, staff, community partners, and alumni, all dedicated to guiding you toward your career goals.
Handshake: Your Career Portal
Handshake is Edgewood College’s online career management system. You can find job and internship opportunities, schedule an appointment with a Career Development staff member, learn about career events, see which employers are hiring, and more.
How to Join Handshake
- Current students: Sign in using your Edgewood email address and password.
- Alumni: If you still have access to your Edgewood email address, sign in using that email and contact the Career Development Department to update your email to a personal address.
Build Your Job Seeker Profile
Create your complete profile to stand out to employers! Updating the Interests section lets you highlight what kind of job or internship you’re looking for, including your preferred location and role.
Schedule an Appointment
Request an appointment with a Student Success Advisor or Career Development staff member. Once you log in to Handshake, select Career Center, then Appointments.
Professional Résumé Review
Get professional feedback on your résumé and cover letter to make them as effective as possible. Log in to Handshake to submit your résumé for review.
Resource Library
Browse through the Handshake Resource Library for help with everything from selecting a major and creating a résumé to building LinkedIn profiles and preparing for job interviews.
Career Development Events
Find virtual and in-person career fairs, webinars, open houses, and more through Handshake. Register for events through Handshake.
Additional Career Growth Opportunities
Internships allow you to apply what you learn in the classroom in a real-world setting. And if your internship is not paid, you can apply for a stipend through the Inclusive Internship Project.
Student jobs on campus are flexible with your class schedule and are a great way to get to know the Edgewood College community.

- Post internship or career opportunities at your company by creating an employer profile on Handshake.
- Volunteer for mock interviews, networking events, panels, and workshops to share your career experience and journey with current students.

The Career Development Department at Edgewood College provides many options to help fulfill employers’ hiring needs by connecting them with qualified students and graduates. By partnering with Edgewood College, your company can:
- Create an employer profile on our online career management system, Handshake, to post job openings and internship opportunities, search for candidates, and manage your online presence with our students.
- Participate in workshops, information sessions, panels, career fairs, and mock interviews for Edgewood students throughout the year.
- Host an intern to help students learn technical skills, as well as communication, self-management, and interpersonal skills.
- Explore how to develop an internship program or refine an existing one with help from our Internship Development Guide for Employers.
