Edgewood College Hosts NAACP ACT-SO Awards

Madison, Wis. (May 1, 2019) – Edgewood College is pleased to work in partnership with the NAACP of Dane County to present the 2019 ACT-SO Award Ceremony for high school students in Greater Madison.

The Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a national, yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African American high school students. ACT-SO includes 32 competitions in STEM, humanities, business, and performing, visual and culinary arts. Almost 300,000 young people have participated in the program since its inception.

The ACT-SO competition took place on campus in April, and the award ceremony is set for

10:00 am, Saturday, May 4, 2019, in Anderson Auditorium.

Greater Madison is invited to attend the award ceremony.
