Edgewood College Hosts United Way ‘Academic Success Launch’

Madison, Wis. (March 13, 2018) – Edgewood College is honored to host the United Way of Dane County’s “Expanding Opportunity: Mobilization Plan 3.0 Public Launch.” This special event takes place at 7:30 am, Thursday, March 15, 2018, in Anderson Auditorium.

The ‘launch’ refreshes United Way’s community-wide academic success goals and takes a more holistic approach to ensuring the social and emotional well-being of local students. United Way has collaborated with volunteers who represent K-12 education, community-based organizations, educational research, as well as parents and students to update this plan. 

Speakers and panelists include Dr. Jennifer Cheatham, Madison Metropolitan School District Superintendent; United Way President & CEO Renee Moe; Madison East High School Principal Michael Hernandez; Centro Hispano Executive Director Dr. Karen Menendez Coller; educational researcher Dr. Annalee Good; United Way volunteer and parent Anthony Johnson, and Madison College student Alondra Quechol. A special theatre performance by the Middleton High School Social Justice Forum is also included.

The event is free and open to the public.
