Tom Klein ’11, Making Start-Ups Sustainable

Tom KleinTom Klein, a graduate of the Sustainability Leadership Certificate Program has recently accepted a position at Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), Boston, MA. The Center, which houses “more startups than anywhere else on the planet,” serves more than 500 start-ups and small businesses. Through Tom’s work, he is able to help hundreds of entrepreneurs start businesses with an understanding of sustainable practices. “The skills I learned in the Sustainability Leadership Program propelled my career,” said Klein. In addition to his work at CIC, Tom is continuing his study of sustainability at Harvard University, working towards an MA in Sustainability & Environmental Management. Prior to Tom’s position with the Cambridge Innovation Center, Tom served as the Dane County Director of the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation, the Director of Sustainability and Marketing at Redamte Coffee House in Madison, and was the owner and founder of TKG Music Group, producing and promoting youthoriented concerts in the greater Madison area. In addition to earning a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Leadership from Edgewood, Klein has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Edgewood College.
