DESCRIPTION OF JOB:     

Edgewood College invites applications for the position of Program Director for our new Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) and Master of Public Health (MPH) programs, launching in Fall 2025. This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the vision and success of these graduate programs while fostering excellence in teaching, student success, and program growth. The program director will report to the Dean of the Predolin School.

The Program Director will provide program leadership, academic instruction, student advising, faculty direction, and curriculum oversight, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and accreditation standards. Additionally, the director will actively engage in student recruitment, community partnerships, and program marketing efforts to drive enrollment and visibility.  As Program Director, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of these high-demand fields while making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and the communities they serve.

Incumbent must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following states upon hire: Wisconsin, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah or Virginia.

Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Administration

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the MHA and MPH programs.
  • Ensure programs meet accreditation standards and align with industry needs.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to maintain academic rigor and relevance.
  • Foster partnerships with healthcare organizations, public health agencies, and industry stakeholders to enhance program impact.

Teaching & Curriculum Development

  • Teach graduate-level courses in healthcare administration and/or public health.
  • Develop and update curriculum to reflect emerging trends, policies, and best practices in the fields.
  • Implement active learning strategies that engage students in real-world problem-solving.

Student Advising & Support

  • Serve as a primary academic advisor for MHA and MPH students, providing mentorship and career guidance.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
  • Monitor student progress and outcomes, addressing academic concerns as needed.

Recruitment, Outreach & Community Engagement

  • Actively participate in recruitment and enrollment initiatives, including outreach to prospective students, conducting information sessions, and engaging with industry partners.
  • Promote the programs through networking, marketing, and public relations efforts.
  • Represent the programs at conferences, professional events, and community forums.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Education or Work Experience:

  • Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Policy, or a related discipline required. Doctorate preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in graduate-level teaching (online teaching experience preferred).
  • Leadership experience in higher education, healthcare administration, or public health.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the college’s mission as a Catholic institution in the Dominican tradition.

Preferred:

  • Experience in program development, accreditation processes, and curriculum design.
  • Strong connections with healthcare and public health organizations.
  • Experience in student recruitment and enrollment strategies.
