Description of Job

The Division of the Arts, School of Arts and Sciences at Edgewood College invites applicants for the position of Lecturer and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Art Therapy Program. The position is full-time, beginning Fall 2025 and includes teaching 24 credits annually, as well as providing overall leadership and development of the Art Therapy Program. Faculty rank is open.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and management skills to maintain the strong foundations of this program
  • Maintain knowledge of accreditation, licensing and credentialing issues affecting counseling and art therapy
  • Teach undergraduate level courses from introductory level to advanced; maintain expertise within content and clinical areas as well as state of the art practices
  • Establish and create community partners for practicum and internships for students
  • Advise students, participate in student art therapy club, and other duties as assigned
  • Participate in college committee work and engage in the responsibilities of a full-time faculty appointment

Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience

  • Masters in Art Therapy, preferably from a CAAHEP accredited program or Doctorate in a related field in a counselor education program ATR-BC (Registered and Board-Certified Art Therapist, or currently eligible for BC)
  • Licensed LPC, LPCC-S or license eligible in Wisconsin (preferred)
  • At least three years teaching experience, preferably to include both graduate and undergraduate levels
  • Recent art therapy clinical practice
  • Active participation in state, national, and local professional organizations
  • Prior experience or strong interest and demonstrated skills applicable to program administration.

  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility, mature judgment, and a commitment to teaching in a creative, collaborative and values-based environment with a focus on promoting individual student success
