The CACREP Liaison (CL) of the Graduate Art Therapy/Counseling Program teaches in the graduate program and provides leadership in credentialing within the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) along with other responsibilities within the Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling Program in the Henry Predolin School of Nursing at Edgewood College. The CL assists the department in readiness and upkeep of CACREP standards and assists faculty in creating high quality educational experiences for art therapy/counseling students that align with CACREP standards. Additional responsibilities include, advising, teaching, faculty responsibilities, and participation in accreditation requirements. The position is beginning Fall 2024 and includes teaching 18 credits annually.

Responsibilities

  • Take a leader role in preparation of the CACREP self-study
  • Provide link between program faculty, administration, and CACREP including communication of deadlines and programmatic needs.
  • Maintain current programming information on the CACREP website when needed.
  • Keep awareness of fee schedules and coordinate payment through the business office with approvals.
  • Administer surveys as required and appropriate.
  • Assist with education of CACREP standards for faculty.
  • Communication
    • CACREP deadlines, and programmatic needs.
    • Provide regular updates at scheduled program meetings
    • Provide significant development updates through Faculty Association.

Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience

  • Doctorate in Counselor Education preferably from a CACREP accredited program or Doctorate in a related field in a counselor education program. In progress will be considered.
  • Licensed LPC or equivalent, or license eligible in Wisconsin preferred
  • Active participation in state, national, and local professional organizations
  • Evidence of continuing scholarly work and competence in teaching
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills, flexibility, mature judgment, and a commitment to teaching in a creative, collaborative and values-based environment with a focus on promoting individual student success.
  • At least three years graduate teaching experience.
  • Recent clinical practice; At least three years within the past fifteen years.
  • Prior experience or strong interest and demonstrated skills applicable to CACREP accreditation standards.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience or strong demonstrated ability and interest in CACREP accreditation.
  • Knowledge of online course delivery.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of the field of Counseling
  • Familiarity of the field of Art Therapy
  • WI State standards for licensure
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective skills in teaching and mentoring
