Clinical Placement Coordinator ABSN Online Program
Description of Job
The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of Online Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) undergraduate student experience and compliance at clinical sites. Additionally, the Clinical Placement Coordinator liaisons with placement services and clinical sites, provides students services related to clinical experiences, and establishes and manages clinical relationships. This individual directly reports to the ABSN Online Program Director, Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, and Dean of the School of Nursing.
Responsibilities
Clinical Site Management
- Coordinate with placement services, ABSN Online Program Director, and ABSN Online Program Faculty to establish and maintain partnerships with clinical agencies to provide appropriate teaching-learning experiences for students.
- Meets with hospital/community personnel to establish new clinical placements.
- Collaborates with hospital/community partners in developing and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Coordinates with placement services as necessary to maintain current contracts and establishes new contracts with all clinical agencies.
- Collaborates with ABSN Online Program Director, ABSN Online Program Faculty, Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, and Dean of the School of Nursing regarding academic planning related to clinical resources (faculty, staff, and agency) for the ABSN Online Program.
Clinical Site Compliance (student and faculty on-boarding)
- Coordinates with the ABSN Online Program Director and ABSN Online Program Faculty to assure student compliance with agency (on-boarding) policies for the ABSN Online Program.
- Coordinates with the ABSN Online Program Director and ABSN Online Program Faculty to provide notification to clinical agencies of faculty and student names at the beginning of each semester and subsequent verification of compliance with faculty and student health records for the ABSN Online Program
- Remains current regarding agency compliance requirements for student placements and serves as a student and faculty resource.
- Remains current on national standards and CDC guidelines regarding immunization policies.
- Manages student files with preceptor documentation requirements.
- Assists in orienting newly-assigned faculty to clinical sites, in coordination with the ABSN Online Program Director and ABSN Online Program Faculty
Faculty/staff/agency liaison
- Serves as a resource for ABSN Online Program Faculty regarding student placement at clinical agencies.
- Serves as a resource for students regarding academic schedules, clinical selection, and general progression and policy questions.
- Implements clinical selection procedure every semester as directed by the ABSN Online Program Director and ABSN Online Program Faculty.
- Communicates clinical changes/issues/concerns regarding the ABSN Online Program to the ABSN Online Program Director and ABSN Online Program Faculty to the Associate Deans and Dean.
Job Qualifications
Necessary Education or Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher; preferred in Nursing or related field
- Minimum of 3 years related administrative/management experience
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge/familiarity of HIPPA regulations
- National Standards and CDC guidelines regarding immunization
- Evidence of effective problem-solving skills
- Evidence of consistently meeting deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Management/leadership skills
Specialized Technology Skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 functions
