The Division of Education at Edgewood College announces one full-time, 12-month administrative/faculty position in Graduate Online Accelerated Licensure programs beginning in January or May 2025. Rank and tenure track status is open depending on academic qualifications. The Division offers undergraduate licensure and degree programs, postbaccalaureate licensure, Master of Arts (MA) degrees, and an Education Doctorate (Ed.D.). The Graduate Online Accelerated Licensure programs support licensure and degree tracks at the graduate level in elementary education, secondary education, and special education. The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with all of these licensure areas, and a deep expertise in at least one of them. All Division of Education programs aim to advance equity in education by preparing educators for anti-racist work through a grounding in Edgewood College values and providing teaching that is culturally and linguistically sustaining.

Responsibilities

  • Administering the three tracks (elementary, secondary, and special education) of the Graduate Online Accelerated Licensure Programs, including oversight and ongoing assessment reviews of the program; program development; recruitment, hiring, mentoring, and supervision of adjunct faculty in the program; course scheduling; and ensuring that each track complies with Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements for the program areas.
  • Supporting professional advisors in their work with students, including mentoring prospective and admitted students in the program.
  • Collaborating with clinical staff in planning for the supervision of practicum students and student teachers in the program.
  • Working with Marketing and Admissions in recruitment efforts to attract a diverse pool of candidates and reviewing application materials for admission decisions.
  • Coordinating internal and external communication, including programming (e.g., orientation) and documents (e.g., handbooks).
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Division and the campus to develop, coordinate, and review the curriculum and delivery models.
  • Convening an advisory board representing program areas for collaborative guidance as needed.
  • Teaching asynchronous online graduate courses related to teacher preparation in the Graduate Online Accelerated Licensure tracks, through diverse theoretical approaches, programming models, methods of instructional practice, and frameworks for culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
  • Serving on Division of Education committees and college-wide faculty committees.
  • Partnering with school, community, and professional organizations, and engaging in public service and leadership in program areas (elementary, secondary, and special education) at local, state, and national levels.
  • Keeping current with scholarship relevant to the program areas and conducting research and scholarly activities that contribute to the field of education.

Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience

  • Earned master’s degree with graduate work focusing on education and teacher preparation; doctorate in education (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • Minimum three years documented PK-12 teaching experience in a relevant field.
  • Documented successful experience teaching college courses or K-12 professional development programs in the licensure areas (elementary, secondary, and/or special education)
  • Experience with or capacity for program administration, assessment, and evaluation at the college level.
  • Research agenda in Education (elementary, secondary, and/or special education) with evidence of a focus on social justice.
  • Experience facilitating synchronous and asynchronous online learning formats; experience with online course management systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and antiracist practices in educational and work environments, and to advancing the College’s strategic plan of inclusion

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of standards and trends in the program areas related to educator preparation and work in relevant professional settings.
  • Ability to conduct data-driven program reviews.
  • Commitment, energy, capacity, and organizational skills to successfully attend to accuracy, manage multiple projects, including self-directed and collaborative tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology, electronic learning systems, and online instruction
