Adjunct Instructor – Mathematics
Description of Job:
The Theatre Arts Program in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Edgewood College invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach two acting studio courses.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in teaching with a focus on introductory level theatre courses. The candidate should be mission driven with a desire to innovate to improve and enhance the experience of college students in theatre courses.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 2 credits of actor studio experience class in session one of the spring semester, and another 2 credits of actor studio experience in the session two of the spring semester. Both classes would be listed as Special Topics.
- Instructors are required to perform all standard teaching duties, including holding regularly scheduled office hours and providing mid-semester and final grades for the classes taught.
Job Qualifications
Necessary Education or Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, or a closely related field; MFA in theatre; professional acting experience
- Experience working with theatre students in the classroom
- Ability to engage all students to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to reach their learning goals
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and others on campus
Required Knowledge and Skills:
An enthusiastic, reflective approach to teaching is required. Candidates with a demonstrated ability to create meaningful collegial relationships with students, faculty, and leadership with diverse backgrounds and points of view will be given priority consideration.
