Madison, Wis. (March 17, 2015) – Edgewood College today announced that Gary Klein has been named Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Mr. Klein brings nearly twenty years of experience in fundraising and development in higher education. During that time he has demonstrated the ability to build a culture and system of philanthropy and the ability to build rapport with faculty, staff and donors.

Students, alumni, and benefactors of the Community Scholars Program gathered to celebrate student achievements and recognize those who make the program possible at the annual Community Scholars Reception. President Scott Flanagan introduced the scholars and thanked supporters for their involvement in the program
The College welcomed civil rights legend Julian Bond to campus as special guest of the 10th Annual Hatheway History Lecture. On March 11, Mr. Bond spoke of his personal experiences and efforts as a civil rights leader over the past 50 years.

This year’s event welcomes civil rights leader Julian Bond. Mr. Bond will speak at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 , in Anderson Auditorium. There is no admission charge and seating is limited. The lecture will be available live at www.edgewood.edu .
On January 5, 2015, Ted Kozlowski ’00 was sworn in as the mayor of Stillwater, Minnesota. His two young daughters, Amelia and Evelyn, stood at his side and his wife Rachael beamed from the front row. It was a proud moment for Kozlowski and his family.
The College is excited to announce the successful completion of the quiet phase of our residence hall capital campaign. With the help of a $1 million match from an anonymous donor and generous gifts from alumni, parents, friends, and community supporters, we are happy to announce that we have raised 80% of our $3.4 million fundraising goal.
I knew Edgewood College was the right choice for me as soon as I set foot on campus because it felt like “home.” This College offered me the best of both worlds with an ideal location in Madison, yet still offered all the benefits of a small school. When on my first tour, it struck me how friendly, excited, and welcoming everyone was. Vice President for Student Development & Dean of Students Maggie Balistreri-Clarke will step down from her post at the end of the 2014-2015 academic year. Maggie has served as the chief student affairs officer for 21 years, and her impact has been felt by thousands of students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

Madison, Wis. (January 26, 2015) – Stacey Garbarski, a senior Theatre Arts major, and her scene partner Leigha Sander won the Irene Ryan Dramatist Guild Award for Excellence in a Performance from a New Play or Musical at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region 3, held earlier this month in Milwaukee. This marks the first time an Edgewood College student has been so honored.
Madison, Wis. (Jan. 15, 2015) – Edgewood College will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with DREAM Week January 20 through 23, 2015.
Madison, Wis. (January 14, 2015) –Edgewood College has received the 2015 Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Edgewood College is now one of only 361 colleges and universities across the country that hold this classification, which will remain in effect for ten years.
The Corporation for National and Community Service has honored Edgewood College with a place on the 2014 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for commitment to service, civic engagement and service-learning. The College has received this honor for the past several years.

Janice Havlena, Professor of Art Therapy, received the Community Partner of the Year Award from the Epilepsy Foundation Heart of Wisconsin at the Epilepsy Foundation 34th Annual Dinner in November.
