‘War is Always With Us’ Opens in Edgewood College Gallery

Madison, Wis. (August 25, 2015) – War is Always With Us, an exhibition of paintings by David Byrd, paintings and prints by Shawn Ganther, and prints from Yvette Pino’s Veteran Print Project, opens Wednesday, August 26, at the Edgewood College Gallery. The exhibition runs through Sunday, October 4.

Freshmen Arrive Saturday, August 22

This year’s freshman class of more than three hundred students arrives Saturday, August 22. This year’s group is the third largest incoming freshman class in school history, and continues a trend of high academic achievement. Twenty-three incoming students earned a 4.0 grade point average in high school.

Edgewood College Named “Best in the Midwest” By The Princeton Review

Edgewood College is one of the best colleges in the Midwest according to The Princeton Review. The well-known education services company lists the college among its “Best in the Midwest” recommended schools in its “2016 Best Colleges: Region by Region” website feature that posted on August 3, 2015. Only 159 colleges in twelve Midwestern states made The Princeton Review’s “Best in the Midwest” list for 2016.

Choral Director Leads ‘People’s Chorus’

Madison, Wis. (August 7, 2015) – Edgewood College Assistant Professor Sergei Pavlov is bringing his talent to a unique stage. He is one of two conductors for the ‘People’s Chorus,’ a performance to bring awareness to the problem of homelessness in Greater Madison.

Independence and Confidence

Studying abroad wasn’t always part of Ashley Ligman’s college plans. “Applying…was sort of an impulsive decision, but it led to one of the best experiences of my life,” she says. In the spring of 2015, Ashley, a senior from Stevens Point, Wis., spent four months studying in Australia. Initially she wasn’t sure about spending a semester away from campus, but was sold once she discovered that she could still graduate on schedule.

Adam Driscoll, ‘09 graduated with a B.S. degree in Computing and Information Sciences. He has been back on campus numerous times, speaking with current CIS majors about the rapidly-moving field of information technology.

Meier-Rao Selected for National Interfaith Seminar

Madison, Wis. (June 2, 2015) – Edgewood College is pleased to announce that Rebecca Meier-Rao, Lecturer in the Religious Studies Department, has been selected from a nationwide pool of nominees to participate in a faculty seminar on the teaching of interfaith understanding. The seminar is offered by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), with support from the Henry Luce Foundation.

Megan Waltz MBA ’15

For Megan Waltz, getting a master’s degree has been long time in the making. She says, “I talked about getting my MBA for the past fifteen years and finally took the plunge!” Waltz jumped in to the MBA in Health Systems Leadership program at Edgewood College in Spring 2012 and graduated this May, as part of the program’s first-ever graduating class.
