Edgewood College Turns Page of The Saint John’s Bible Each Day for Pope’s Visit

Beginning Monday, Sept. 21, and each day of Pope Francis’s historic visit to the United States, Edgewood College will join institutions across the country by turning to the same page of The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Edition . This simple act will be a rich symbol of unity and hospitality, as the College joins schools, churches, libraries and hospitals in “Illuminating the Mission: 7 Days – 7 Pages.”

Freshmen Arrive Saturday, August 22

This year’s freshman class of more than three hundred students arrives Saturday, August 22. This year’s group is the third largest incoming freshman class in school history, and continues a trend of high academic achievement. Twenty-three incoming students earned a 4.0 grade point average in high school.

National Honor for Student Satisfaction

Ruffalo Noel Levitz, the leading provider of technology-enabled services, software, and consulting for higher education enrollment management and fundraising, has named Edgewood College as one of only three winners of the 2015 Lee Noel and Randi Levitz Retention Excellence Awards.

Professor Bill Duddleston to Retire After 45 Years

Longtime Social Science Department faculty member Bill Duddleston is retiring after 45 years of dedicated teaching to thousands of students at Edgewood College.

Former Police Chief to Speak

Madison, Wis. (April 20, 2015) – Edgewood College welcomes a graduate back to campus, to speak on an issue that is as timely as it is often divisive. David C. Couper MA ’06, former City of Madison Police Chief, will deliver a lecture ‘New Police for a New Era’ from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Anderson Auditorium. There is no admission charge. Seating is limited.

Alumnus Derek Helmer Named New Men’s Soccer Head Coach

In March, Edgewood College alumnus Derek Helmer was named the new head coach of the Edgewood College men's soccer team, replacing Tim Alexander. Alexander, who has coached the Eagle men for all 25 of their seasons, will remain as the head coach of the Edgewood College women's soccer program and will also assume the new title of Director of Soccer Operations.

Students Continue Service Partnership in Cambodia

A group of students elected to spend part of their winter break in Cambodia, carrying on a mission of expanding access to clean drinking water and basic healthcare. Edgewood College students and faculty, along with UW-Madison’s American Family Children’s Hospital, have forged a partnership with the Angkor Hospital for Children, a teaching hospital which provides free healthcare to impoverished children in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Edgewood College Announces New VP for Institutional Advancement

Madison, Wis. (March 17, 2015) – Edgewood College today announced that Gary Klein has been named Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Mr. Klein brings nearly twenty years of experience in fundraising and development in higher education. During that time he has demonstrated the ability to build a culture and system of philanthropy and the ability to build rapport with faculty, staff and donors.

Civil Rights Legend Julian Bond Visits Campus

The College welcomed civil rights legend Julian Bond to campus as special guest of the 10th Annual Hatheway History Lecture. On March 11, Mr. Bond spoke of his personal experiences and efforts as a civil rights leader over the past 50 years.

Taking Service Seriously

On January 5, 2015, Ted Kozlowski ’00 was sworn in as the mayor of Stillwater, Minnesota. His two young daughters, Amelia and Evelyn, stood at his side and his wife Rachael beamed from the front row. It was a proud moment for Kozlowski and his family.
