Madison, Wis. (January 24, 2024) – Edgewood College continues to expand its doctoral degree programs with the launch this fall of the fully online Doctor of Business Administration degree (DBA). The new program joins the Doctoral Degrees in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.), and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.

“The new Doctor of Business Administration program builds on our great legacy in business education,” William Mangan, Ph.D., Provost and Chief Academic Officer, said. “Our reputation for excellence is the result of the visionary leadership of our faculty who are committed to the personal and professional success of our students and alumni. The new DBA builds on our successful Master of Business Administration program, allowing students to deepen their knowledge and skills in order to become highly successful leaders in business and industry. We’re grateful for the affirmation of the DBA by the Higher Learning Commission, and we are excited about the opportunity to continue to serve our online graduate business students.”

Edgewood College received formal accreditation for the new terminal degree program in early January. The Higher Learning Commission is scheduled to publish the accreditation on their website (hlcommission.org) by the end of February 2024. Unlike a Ph.D. program which is geared toward academia and theoretical research, a DBA focuses on applied research. Doctoral students will enhance their critical reasoning skills for practical use in developing pragmatic solutions to problems in the business world.

“The launch of this DBA program is more than an academic initiative – it is a promise to the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and visionaries,” Victoria Palmisano, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Business, Communication, and Innovation, said. “We continue to craft a heritage of learning, cultivating minds to navigate the vast expanse of information and ushering in a future marked by ethical leadership, scholarly excellence, and transformative insights.”
