Freshmen Arrive Saturday, August 22

Madison, Wis. (August 19, 2015) – This year’s freshman class of more than three hundred students arrives Saturday, August 22. This year’s group is the third largest incoming freshman class in school history, and continues a trend of high academic achievement. Twenty-three incoming students earned a 4.0 grade point average in high school.

“We are honored that these outstanding students see that we are a place that welcomes all students who reflect the communities we serve,” Director of Freshman Admissions Derek Johnson said. “We’re pleased that when these bright young people and their families tour campus, meet with professors, talk with current students, they realize that Edgewood College is the right fit for them.”

While Wisconsin students continue to comprise the majority of freshmen, a record number of the class of 2019 hail from other state, including Missouri, Tennessee, Florida, Arizona and Texas.

The freshman class is officially welcomed at New Student Convocation, 2:00 pm, in the Edgedome.
