Derek Johnson Honored With Emerging Leader Award

Edgewood College is pleased to announce the Urban League of Greater Madison Young Professionals has honored Derek Johnson with its Emerging Leader of the Year award. Mr. Johnson is the Director of Freshman Admissions at Edgewood College. The award will be celebrated at the 2016 Emerge Gala, to be held this weekend in Madison.

Center for Healthcare Education and Simulation Receives Civic Engagement Award

Edgewood College is pleased to announce the Center for Healthcare Education and Simulation (CHES), a unique partnership between Edgewood College, Dean & St. Mary’s Hospital and UnityPoint Health-Meriter, has received an Esther Letven Campus-Community Partnership Award. The award was presented by the Wisconsin Campus Compact on April 18 at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Student Receives Campus Compact Award for Civic Engagement

Edgewood College is pleased to announce that senior Marissa Blackmore has received the Jack Keating Student Civic Leadership Award. The award is presented by the Wisconsin Campus Compact. Ms. Blackmore received the award today, April 18 at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, as part of the Civic Engagement Institute.

The Edgewood College Chamber Singers made history in March when they travelled to Quito, Ecuador as the first American collegiate choir to be invited to the Festival Internacional de Música Sacra (International Sacred Music Festival), one of the most prestigious Easter music festivals in South America.

President Flanagan Invited to Nation’s Capital as ‘Champion’ for College Success

(March 22, 2016) – Dr. Scott Flanagan has been invited by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in “Championing Completion: Improving College Outcomes for Pell Students.” Only a select number of college and university presidents nationwide have been invited to attend this day-long meeting at the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. on March 24, 2016.

Student Wins Major Awards at American College Theatre Festival

Madison, Wis. (February 18, 2016) – Mark Kennedy, a senior Theatre Arts major from Saint Paul, Minn., was honored with three awards from the 2016 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) for his work on Woods of Weaver specialty props. Mark won the Society of Properties Artisan Managers Award for Craft Excellence at ACTF Region III, the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas Award, and the Regional Allied Design and Technology Award. As a result, Mark is attending the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas for one week of intensive study with some of the country’s best prop masters.
