Biology Symposium: Lauren Wheeler – Does Endurance Exercise Mitigate High-Fat Diet-Induced Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Zebrafish?
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a growing global concern, closely linked to other metabolic conditions such as obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2DM). To highlight the connection between NAFLD and T2DM, the global prevalence of NAFLD among T2DM patients in 2019 was over 55%. A common developmental factor of these conditions is the overconsumption of a high-fat diet (HFD).

Edgewood College Theatre Presents Young Frankenstein
From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation, The Producers, comes this monster new musical comedy. The comedy genius, Mel Brooks, adapts his legendarily funny film into a brilliant stage creation – Young Frankenstein! Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”) finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. Every bit as relevant to audience members who will remember the original as it will be to newcomers, Young Frankenstein has all the panache of the screen sensation with a little extra theatrical flair in this action-packed musical comedy.

Biology Symposium: Anna Robbins – How resting metabolic rates change after territorial interactions in green anole lizards
Social dominance hierarchies are pervasive in animals, shaping interactions and resource allocation in many species. Dominant individuals may monopolize resources such as territories and access to females. The establishment and maintenance of a social hierarchy involves behavioral, physiological, and morphological adaptations that enhance the competition. Green anoles provide an interesting model for looking at social dynamics.
