A special Friday evening concert features three Edgewood College Choirs: the Women’s Choir, conducted by Kathleen Otterson, and the Chamber Singers and Edgewood Chorale, both conducted by Sergei Pavlov. The Guitar Ensemble, directed by Nathan Wysock, also warms the evening in this early spring concert. There is no admission charge.
The choir portion of the concert will feature works of well-known composers such as Mozart and Irving Berlin, as well as those by lesser-known composers such as Chinese composer Wei-Pin Chen and the American Alexandra Olsaysky. Several instrumentalists will accompany the choirs, including Edgewood College staff accompanist, Beth Wilson. Kathleen Otterson will be featured narrating Give Me Your Tired, your Poor, by Irving Berlin.
The Guitar Ensemble features work by Astor Piazzolla and Django Reinhardt as well as Homage to Django Reinhardt by Alan Thomas. The Music Department at Edgewood College invites you to a concert featuring four ensembles. This special spring celebration includes the Women’s Choir, conducted by Kathleen Otterson; the Guitar Ensemble, directed by Nathan Wysock; the Chamber Singers and the Edgewood Chorale, both conducted by Sergei Pavlov.
The Women’s Choir and Chamber Singers are student ensembles, while the Guitar Ensemble and Edgewood Chorale are part of Edgewood College’s community outreach, with musicians from all walks of life who want to enjoy music and continue their music education.
