Are You a School District Looking to Hire Aspiring Teachers?
Partner With Us
We know teaching is more than a job, it’s a calling. Sharing a similar mission, Edgewood College is committed to educating the educators that will inspire and teach your students. Our Dominican values of truth, compassion, justice, partnership, and community are woven into the traditional liberal arts education all students receive.
The Accelerated Teacher Education Program is designed to serve as a solution to the ongoing teacher shortage. The impact on children and current teachers compels us to do more. We have always been motivated to ensure highly effective teachers are educated, trained, and licensed, and now that demand is greater than ever. We have developed a partnership opportunity for your school district that focuses on increasing the number of teachers available to serve your students, thus improving teacher satisfaction and positively impacting teacher retention.
HOW THIS PARTNERSHIP SUPPORTS YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT:
- A new teacher may be credentialed in as little as one year (12 months) in the areas of K-9 elementary/middle, 4-12 secondary, or K-12 cross-categorical special education. At the end of the 12-24 months program, teaching candidates will have earned both a license and a master’s degree.
- Most coursework is delivered asynchronously, allowing student-teachers to be in the classroom, paired with a teacher mentor.
- Tuition discount offered to school employees of districts that are participating in the partnership program.
- Each program offers a strong pathway to rebuild the pipeline of teachers within your district.
- Accelerated and online coursework removes the obstacles of time and cost, helping districts identify individuals who want to teach.
HOW YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPPORTS ASPIRING TEACHERS:
- Aligning with licensure areas, identify teacher mentors within your school district. Teaching mentors will be paired with student-teachers for the entire school year.
- Partner school district may offset student-teacher’s tuition costs.
