Undergraduate Theatre Arts

The Department of Theatre Arts has a learning by doing approach to the art of theatre. Once you step foot in the theatre, you have the opportunity to get involved immediately - on stage or behind the scenes. The program is interdisciplinary, and customizable for each individual student. You will work with an advisor to create a “Pathway” of classes that suit your interests, talents and goals.

  • The Department of Theatre Arts performs in The Diane Ballweg Theatre with all the top equipment for technical training.  

  • Stage time! With four mainstage productions a year and casting of majors and non-majors, there’s plenty of opportunity to hone your craft

Career Outcomes

The entertainment industry is huge and growing at unprecedented rates. The need for people trained in all areas of theatre production, continues to grow. This translates directly to film, television, social media and other forms of entertainment and creative industries. 

Theatre Arts graduates are sought after in the following professions: film, television, audio and digital work, commercial theatre, summer stock, children's theatre, industrial training films, community theatre, playwriting, screenwriting, publicity, dramaturgy, directing, technical directing, stage management, set design, light design and tech, sound design and tech, costumes design, wardrobe work, hair and makeup design and application, management and marketing, box office management and every area--either on stage or behind the scenes--of the growing entertainment field.
