Information Technology careers are continuously rated by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics as one of the fastest growing professions in the country, and a minor in Computer Science can help you be part of it. 

This minor provides you with a “behind the scenes” exploration of the computing field. You will learn the core concepts of computer programming by learning how to program in different languages.

Career Outcomes

The Computer Science minor prepares you for employment in a wide range of positions, such as programming, networking support, and help desk. 

Many of our students have jobs secured before they graduate. In a Spring 2015 survey of Edgewood College CIS alumni, 73% of graduates reported they already had full-time jobs before graduation; 88% found their first jobs within 6 months; 98% within a year. More than 60% of respondents reported current annual salaries of over $80,000 and more than 30% are over $100,000. 

Often internships are the gateway to finding a full-time job. Our students have worked as interns at many local companies, including: TDS, Cuna Mutual, Epic, BeconHill Technologies, UW-Health, and many others.
