Accreditation

The Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) is accredited through Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is currently in candidacy with Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) for accreditation. The DBA Program will receive full accreditation once it has met all ACBSP requirements.

BUS 903 – Analyzing Behavior in Organizations

This course builds on students’ prior learning about human behavior in an organizational setting. The application of techniques for individual and organizational growth are evaluated with the intent of further developing critical-thinking skills, and a sensitivity to the individual’s role in creating organizational cultures. Topics may include: personality and attitudes, group process: building teams, communication, and orchestrating change.

BUS 904 – Exec Supply Chain & Negotiations

The course is designed to help students learn how to identify, dissect, and answer strategic management problems. To remedy the crucial challenges facing organizations, students will research, analyze, and evaluate solutions. Students cultivate skills using decision and visualization tools, logic frameworks, and negotiation tactics. Students will present fact-based analysis and recommendations in oral and written formats to persuade an audience to support recommendations.

BUS 910 – Financial Decision & Value Creation

In this course, students will build upon their knowledge of managerial finance to measure and manage the risk and value of investment opportunities including equity investments, fixed income investments, financing vehicles, payout policies, derivatives securities, and special topics.

Frequently Asked Questions about DBA

How do I apply for this program?

We encourage students to submit their application and admissions materials by the priority deadlines. However, we will continue to accept applications on a continuous basis until the start of the session. Applications considered complete after the priority deadline can be considered for admission for the next session.

New students may start their program at six entry points throughout the year. Please note our priority deadlines:

Spring Session I – January 21, 2025
Spring Session II – March 10, 2025
Summer Session I – May 13, 2025
Summer Session II – June 7, 2025

To be considered for admission, applicants must provide the following:

Completed graduate application. This application is for students who want to pursue a doctoral degree.
Official transcripts reflecting completion of a master’s degree, or more advanced degree from a United States regionally accredited or equivalent post-secondary institution with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Students who do not meet the 3.0 GPA requirement may still be considered for conditional admission. Please contact your admissions counselor for more information on how to apply for conditional admission.

Can I transfer my credits from a different college for this program?

Up to 9 credit hours of doctoral level coursework may be submitted for consideration of transfer for application to this degree program. Approval of the DBA program director is required. To be considered, a course must have been taken within the past five years. For more information about transfer credits, please contact your admissions counselor.

Applicants for any of the student classifications except non-degree must meet all requirements for admission to the graduate programs.

Complete and submit graduate application.
Provide evidence of a master’s degree from a United States regionally accredited or equivalent postsecondary institution with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for regular admission status. The cumulative grade point average is computed on the highest degree held at the time of application.
Request that official transcripts for all graduate academic credits received from any institutions be sent directly to Edgewood College Graduate and Professional Studies.

Do I need an MBA to pursue a DBA?

No. Graduates with a master’s degree in any profession are encouraged to apply!

Does Edgewood College have a dual degree option (MBA+DBA)?

Yes! Edgewood College has introduced 100% online MBA + DBA Dual Degree. The first of its kind in the United States, students will take an additional 15 credits and graduate with both an MBA and DBA. To learn more about this pathway, follow up with our Graduate Admissions Team at gps@edgewood.edu.
