Do You Aspire to Become a Teacher?
Your Timing is Impeccable
With the Accelerated Teacher Education Partnership at Edgewood College, the future is now, the job is included, and you can be credentialed in 12-24 months*. Students will partner with a sponsoring school district** and begin where they normally end – in the physical classroom. During the academic year, aspiring teachers will complete their coursework while simultaneously student-teaching under the mentorship of another teacher. Classes are asynchronous and 8-weeks in length.

- Tuition Reduced 45% to $325/credit, for a total program cost of $9,750 (30 credit Master’s Degree)
Students can expect a high-quality student teaching experience within a supportive collaboration between Edgewood College and the sponsoring school district. In just one year, you could earn your teaching license, master’s degree, have job placement – and your school district may offset your tuition (consult your School District for specific details). Our response to the teacher shortage is paving a way for aspiring teachers to answer their calling.
This accelerated partnership is geared toward:

*Students must start in August or January to complete in 12 months. Students starting at other times can complete the program in as little as 14 months.
**Students not employed by a partnering school district are eligible to enroll under the partnership program. The cost per credit is $660 with a total program cost of $19,800.

The Accelerated Teacher Education Partnership was designed to serve as a solution to the ongoing teacher shortage. The impact on children and current teachers compels us to do more. We have always been motivated to ensure highly effective teachers are educated, trained, and licensed, and now that demand is greater than ever. We have developed a partnership opportunity for your school district that focuses on increasing the number of teachers available to serve your students, improves teacher satisfaction and positively impacts teacher retention.
HOW THIS PARTNERSHIP SUPPORTS YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT:
- A new teacher will may be credentialed within 12 months; one year in the areas of elementary, secondary, or cross-categorical special education. At the end of the 12-24 months program, student-teachers will have earned both a license and a master’s degree.
- Coursework is delivered asynchronously allowing student-teachers to be in the your classroom, paired with a teacher mentor.
- Tuition discount offered to partner schooling school district employees who are participating in the partnership program.
- New pathway to rebuild the pipeline of teachers within your district.
- Remove the obstacles of time, cost, and identifying individuals who want to teach.
HOW YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPPORTS ASPIRING TEACHERS:
- Aligning with content area, identify teacher mentors within your school district. Teaching mentors will be paired with student-teachers for the entire school year.
- Partner school district may offset student-teacher’s tuition costs.
