Family Nurse Practitioner Program Director


Edgewood College is seeking a part-time (negotiable for full-time) Family Nurse Practitioner Program (FNP) Director. This position provides overall leadership to the Henry Predolin School of Nursing’s FNP program.


Direct oversight of FNP Program Delivery:

  • Provides leadership into the establishment, evaluation, and revision of any admission criteria specific to the FNP program
  • Provides leadership into curriculum development, evaluation, and revision of NP program
  • Evaluates preceptors and practice settings; acts as a liaison to community agencies, assists program in securing clinical settings
  • Evaluates students’ progress through didactic and clinical components of the program; evaluates students’ attainment of competencies throughout the program
  • Serves as resource for student credentialing and state-specific requirements

Program Administration/Accreditation:

  • Monitors credentials of adjunct faculty and advises Dean and faculty on accreditation standards
  • Approves internship agencies, oversees student compliance with state and local regulations, and maintains agreements with agencies
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain out-of-state FNP licenses as necessary to meet out-of-student oversight requirements
  • Assists in writing reports and complying with accreditation standards
  • Participates in ongoing program evaluation for curriculum
  • Participates in School and College committees
  • Actively participates in relevant professional organizations
  • Writes grants for external funding


  • Maintain current clinical practice as an FNP
  • Teach assigned class(es) as determined by the needs of the program and as approved by the Dean


Necessary Education or Work Experience:

  • Master’s degree in nursing and current national certification as a family nurse practitioner
  • Unencumbered Wisconsin RN and APRN license
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in an accredited graduate nursing program

Preferred Experience:

  • Earned doctoral degree (or in progress)
  • Knowledge of online course delivery
