International Student Enrollment Coordinator

Description of Job

The International Student Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for recruiting undergraduate and graduate students to Edgewood College and processing documents that support international students who want to attend Edgewood College.  This position is based in the Center for Global Education and will work in close collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Adult and Graduate Enrollment and the Director of Admissions.     

Responsibilities

Undergraduate Application Processing and Outreach

  • Assist international applicants through each step of the admissions and enrollment processes
  • Identify barriers or challenges that do not align with an exceptional prospective student experience and collaborate with Enrollment Management Leadership to reduce or eliminate these barriers and challenges
  • Engage with strategic partners for international student recruitment to develop and nurture Edgewood College’s relationship with these partners
  • Maintain student record data integrity at all times.
  • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills both in person and in phone conversations
  • Ability to communicate the value of an Edgewood College education to prospective students in an impactful way
  • Manage pipeline of assigned undergraduate and graduate students in a way that aligns with college policy and facilitates meeting or exceeding enrollment goals
  • Successful candidate must have availability that allows them to work hours that accommodate the availability of prospective students.  International students reside in different time zones so work outside of normal office hours is regularly anticipated

I20 Workflow

  • Execute the I20 workflow in a manner that complies with Edgewood College policy and applicable federal laws
  • Collaborate with external partners, including upGrad to obtain all documents required for issuing an I20
  • Vet documents according to the I20 process and promptly communicate to all necessary parties when a document does not meet the requirements
  • Collaborate with other internal offices as needed to facilitate a positive and streamlined student experience

Designated School Official

  • Assist with international student orientation
  • Issue I20 document for students
  • Advise students on the Visa application process
  • Serve as a Designated School Official for F1 international students and as an alternate responsible officer for J1 students
  • Serve as a backup immigration advisor for student

Other

  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (desired)
  • Experience working within a college or university setting (desired)
  • Previous experience working with international students is desired.  Previous DSO experience is highly desired

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines that change rapidly
  • Ability to effectively lead staff and students
  • Ability to work with diverse populations specifically populations from different cultures and countries.  Candidate must possess strong intercultural competency

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to learn Slate and other internal data management tools.
