Adjunct Instructor for Computing and Information Sciences

The Computing & Information Sciences (CIS) Department in the School of Liberal Arts, Education, and the Sciences at Edgewood College invites applications for an adjunct teaching position for the Spring 2024 semester.
Responsibilities
The individual appointed in this position will be able to teach the following undergraduate level course face to face in a traditional semester-based format:
- Teach one section of CS 305 Introduction to Data Analytics, scheduled at MW 10:00 – 11:50 AM. This course is intended to give students the grounding principles of data analysis. Students will be exposed to different frameworks of scientific interaction with the data and ways to reduce uncertainty in order to get better decision-making results. Prerequisites: CS 165 or CS 179; and MATH 256.
Job Qualifications
Necessary Education or Work Experience
- Master’s, ABD, or earned doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, or relevant field
- Master’s degree or earned doctorate in a non-relevant field with minimum of 3-5 years of industry/research experience working in the field of data science and analytics considered.
- Demonstrated experience working with Data Science
- Experience working with undergraduates in the classroom.
- Experience teaching in an online or hybrid learning environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology into the classroom experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with department peers and others on campus
