Edgewood College is seeking an instructor to teach NATS 104 (Introduction to Natural Science for Elementary Education I) during the Fall 2018 semester.
NATs 104 is a general science course designed for pre-service elementary educators and is the first of a two-semester sequence that focuses primarily on physical and earth science. The course helps students learn the physical science and geoscience content covered on the Praxis exam. Instructors teaching this course are encouraged to model student centered teaching practices discussed in the corresponding science methods course, ED 427A. These practices include, but are not limited to, modeling, argumentation, science talks, and collaborative learning. Beyond the course content, instructors should be willing to guide pre-service teachers and participate in outreach events throughout the semester.
The purpose of these events is to help the pre-service teachers learn how to plan and implement lessons designed for a diverse classroom. For question, please contact Tim Kuhman (Chair of the Biological Sciences Department) at email@example.com.
