We are fortunate to receive funding again this year from the Henry Predolin Foundation. In collaboration with our Biological Sciences department, we have used this funding to purchase an Anatomage Table.
The Anatomage Table allows students to interact with a digital cadaver instead of real human cadavers. It is an amazing piece of sophisticated technology that allows students to view human anatomy exactly as you would if you
were examining a real person as individual structures are reconstructed in 3-D, resulting in an unprecedented level of detailed anatomy. We’re excited to start using the table in Nursing and Biology classes next fall
and we are very grateful to the Henry Predolin Foundation for their continued support.
We are also proud to report that we have received a second year of funding from Bader Philanthropies, Inc. to continue to develop a statewide collaborative among Wisconsin schools of nursing, which will address aging and
dementia. As part of the initiative we hosted a second statewide conference on geriatric nursing education on May 30-31 in Middleton, Wisconsin. We are extremely grateful to Bader Philanthropies, Inc. for their
leadership in the field of geriatric education and research, and we are excited to be a part of this work.
As the Dean, I’m passionate about ensuring that our faculty, staff and students are successful and that our programs continue to be held in the highest regard at Edgewood College and throughout the broader Madison community.
Though we have challenges ahead of us as healthcare needs continue to change, we know nurses will continue to play a critical role in reshaping the delivery of care. The contributions we make as educators, scholars and
practitioners are essential to transforming our healthcare system to better meet these evolving needs.
