Installation of 9th president

Madison, Wis. (October 10, 2021) – On Sunday, October 10, 2021, Andrew P. Manion, Ph.D., was formally installed as the ninth president of Edgewood College. Members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae,
students, and community members gathered to celebrate the event. The Installation Mass, celebrated by Most Reverend Donald J. Hying, Bishop of the Diocese of Madison, was held on-campus and in-person in St. Joseph
Chapel.

“A college presidency is a challenging calling, but it need not and should not be isolating,” Rolf Wegenke, Ph.D., President of the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, said. “The Dominican
Sisters of Sinsinawa, the trustees, the faculty and staff, the students and all of your colleagues and friends––and, above all, your wonderful family––are also ‘Called to Serve’ here today.”

Colleen Settles, O.P., joined in welcoming Dr. Manion. “The Sinsinawa Dominicans, with a proud history of 94 years at Edgewood College, congratulate you as you formally begin your role as president,” she said. “We are
confident that you will continue the Dominican tradition of proclaiming the Gospel through the ministry of preaching and teaching in order to participate in the building of a holy and just church and society, as well as
the Sinsinawa vision of seeking and fostering right relationships among all God’s people and with the earth that sustains us.” Settles currently serves on the Leadership Council of the Dominican Sisters of
Sinsinawa.

Dr. Manion accepted the President’s Medallion, which was presented by the Board of Trustees. The Medallion will be worn by the President at all convocations, commencements, important ceremonial occasions and remind him
of the community of learners that he serves.

Dr. Manion began his tenure as President on June 1, 2020. Information about the announcement of Dr. Manion’s selection
is available online.
